July, August, September

Three more calendar pages.

One product I do like to work with is metal sheet, so I had to include a page in my calendar with metal on it.

July: The  Paper Artsy sunflower was stamped and embossed onto metal sheet. It was coloured with alcohol inks and cut out. The flourish is a Tim Holtz die cut. They are mounted onto an embossed piece of Coredination card, which has been scuffed. (Crafts Too folder)

August: One of my favourite pages. I.O. Cover a card stamp - Paisley. Crafty Individuals Peacock. Memory Box flowers and Marianne D flourish. I really like the VersaFine Majestic blue inkpad I used. It is a lovely vibrant colour.

September : This page was fun to make as I used various products and techniques.    The Dreamweaver scarecrow is cute and worked well for September. It is standing on a background made with a variety of leaf masks and Distress ink colours. The border is a Memory Box die cut, on the top sample, with a Martha Stewart punch pelmet.  The bottom sample has Spellbinder D- Lites Cattails , that look like corn stalks. Worked well with the scarecrow.

After I had photographed my pages I found I had a stamp by Hobby Art, with a lovely quote by Anne Bronte. It says "A light wind swept over the corn and all nature laughed in the sunshine." It was just the right size to put in the top left-hand corner of the page and  it worked beautifully.

More calendar pages

Hello again.
Hope you all had a good Easter. I have three more calendar pages for you today.

April
I have used the beautiful IndigoBlu stamp called Collecting flowers for this page. I thought this stamp was so detailed that I didn't want to give it too much colour so I only coloured the edges when I die cut the frame around it. The die cut fits inside the embossed shape perfectly. It was embossed with coredination card and scuffed. I have used Peacock distress ink to colour the edges.
The frame and embossing folder are both made by Sizzix.

   May

This picture was on a beautiful Graphic 45 paper called Birdsong - Jasmine Dream.
It had lovely Japanese illustrations. All the papers in this series were oriental style designs.

The base card was embossed with a Sizzix texture fades embossing folder called Winter berries, and scuffed.  This is a really useful design as it can be used any way round. It comes with the Brush poinsettia, so is great for Christmas cards as well.
The Memory Box corner die and butterfly, were cut from gold Mirri card.

June

Roses for June. The background was an Impression Obsession cover a card stamp - roses, which was stamped with VersaFine and brushed over with pigment powder. This gives a lovely soft background with a shimmer. The main rose was a Kanban rose, coloured with metallic paint.

I did a couple of pages for this month as I couldn't decide which I preferred.

That's all for now.
Thanks for visiting.

2013 Calendar pages

I made my calendar for 2013 with a group of lovely ladies, that I have known for three years.  We enjoyed meeting each week, and it kept me on my toes, thinking of new projects for each session. Unfortunately, we have been unable to get together recently, and I think we are all missing our craft evening.

I used a variety of stamps, dies and techniques, with a simple layout .

January
Stamps used: Impression Obsession Cover a Card with a Katzelkraft Cat stamp. Distress inks: Weathered wood,Faded jeans, Mustard seed and Marmalade. Love these colours together.

February
Kanban trees .
March
Hobby Art Daffodils with a Memory Box border.

A canvas inspired by the colours of a winter day.

Hello again.
This is a small canvas that I made after seeing a lovely winter sky.

I used a Dreamweaver stencil with Ferro paste. I like the rough texture that the Ferro gives, does scratch the stencil though.
The leaves are embossed with a Cuttlebug leaf folder and the trees are a Crafty Individuals stamp. The background of the stamped image, is coloured with Mustard seed and Weathered wood Distress ink. I really like these two colours together. I then did one layer of ultra thick , clear embossing, to give a textured finish to the tree piece.

The canvas was spritzed with a yellow and  blue shimmer mist, but can't remember what colours they were!!

This was the second sample I did to go with it. There is a third too, but the photo I took was rubbish. Still alot to learn where photography is concerned I think!

A recent winter day

So, here goes!
Photography is another one of my interests and scenes like this winter's day often give me inspiration for my projects.

I couldn't resist taking this photograph; the sky was so beautiful and the colours were amazing. The picture really doesn't do them justice.

I was immediately thinking about how I could get similar colours into a stamping project. Love it!

Weathered wood, faded jeans and mustard seed distress inks worked well.
