Hello everyone and a Happy New year to you. Hope 2018 is a good one.

The Chocolate Baroque  DT team have been showing their samples , on the blog,
from the mermaid and sea sets of stamps. These were shown on Hochanda, just before Christmas.
So I  have one of my card samples, that I did for the show, to show you today.

One of my favourites was this.

Unfortunately, I didn't get a good photo of it before sending.

I was going to do it as a box card with a curved front, then miscalculated the sizing when I trimmed it up! So I just had it as an opening card with a curved front. Difficult to see in the photo but I liked the effect when it was standing. Does need to go in a box rather than an envelope though.

I started with a Distress ink background in Weathered wood, Mustard seed and Faded jeans.

Then I over-stamped the different elements to make the scene and added a little more yellow and orange around the sun.

The front section  was wider,  so that it could be scored either side, to make the curved front. The aperture was then cut out to reveal the scene behind.

If you make the base picture a few centimetres wider, you can stick both side edges down on the front panel, to make a curve faced, box type card.

Hope this makes sense!!

Stamps used: Seashore Scenes
                      Seashore Dreams
Distress inks: Weathered wood, Mustard seed, Faded jeans, Orange marmalade.

Thank you for visiting and see you soon.
Best wishes
Carole
