 Chocolate Baroque Challenge 34

Hello.
I thought it was about time that I did another challenge post, haven't done one for ages.

Current Challenge

How pretty are these colours and the sample card is  beautiful.

I

I recently bought a stamp called Serena, having looked at it numerous times. I'm very glad I did now as I have several ideas for projects.

This is the  card I am entering into the challenge.

Although the stamp is a Christmas one it is possible to use elements of it, which is what I like .

She fitted beautifully onto a 12cm. Artcuts heart and I was able to leave off the candles, therefore making her suitable for any occasion.
The background stamp is from Floral Edges, another set that I am fond of, and the words are from a Hobby Art set called Sunny Day Greetings.

I used watercolour pencils to colour the image and pulled the colour out with a clear Wink of Stella pen.
It doesn't show very clearly in the photo but it is very pretty and shimmery in real life.
The background is done with Distress ink.

Hope you are all having good crafting.

I am up at Ragley Hall next weekend with Artcuts, at the Handmade Fair.

If you are visiting please come and say hello.
Bye for now.

Stampendous - Laurel Burch 3

Good Morning.

More Laurel Burch stamp projects I have been working on.
One quick and simple and the other on a 12cm.  Artcuts heart.

The image has been heat embossed with Jewelled gold powder and coloured with pearlescent paints. The paper was some I found in my stash and I thought the tiny image worked well.

The image on the heart has been coloured with the same paints and then I put glossy accents over the face and birds. Not the best photo, looks washed out! But you get the idea.

The  background on the card is a Creative Expressions - Sue Wilson Die which was a recent purchase and I'm loving it! The other die cuts were a freebie and I can't remember what make they are, but they cut brilliantly.

Thank you for visiting.

Stampendous - Laurel Burch designs

More Stampendous Laurel Burch designs

Hello.
Where does time go? I can't believe that it is over a month since my last post!
Hope you are all well.

I have been enjoying  my new Stampendous stamps as I really love these Laurel Burch designs and all her art work.

After getting excited by the single cat with bird, I have since tried the cat background and lady.
Here are a few of the cards I have made already.

Love this background stamp, with all the happy little faces!

Laurel Burch's work was very distinctive because of the very bright colours she used on her designs.

This one has been mounted onto a Brusho background.

The Lady's  head is called Soul Tears.

The sample below was stamped and silver embossed onto a 15cm. Artcuts  heart, which was painted black. I wanted to colour her with pearlescent colours, so not quite as vibrant as the other sample, but I was pleased with how it turned out.

Hope you have enjoyed these projects and thank you for visiting.
Must finish now.
Happy crafting
Bye.

Chocolate Baroque challenge 21

Good morning.
Hope your day is as beautiful as it is here. The sun is shining but still a little chilly.

Just a quick sample which I have decided to put into the challenge 21 at Chocolate Baroque. (Rather late entry as it finishes tomorrow).
A piece I was making as a gift and realized the colours were working for the challenge, so thought I would make a second entry this time.

The designs are stamped onto a 15 cm. and a 10 cm. wooden heart from Artcuts  and the  stamps are from the Mackintosh Beauty set, that I used for my other entry.
There are so many lovely stamps in this set.
The inspirational sayings are from Tim Holtz idea-ology  small talk stickers. Love these. There are some  great sayings.

Thanks for visiting and have a great day.

Indigoblu March Challenge

Hello.
Thank you for stopping by.

I decided to enter a card into the Indigoblu challenge this month as I had used two of the colours and just had to add the green.
The challenge is yellow/green and pink, vibrant spring like colours, and not those I would normally use.

The stamp is called Elizabeth Bennett and she fits well onto the 10 cm. ArtCuts  heart.
I think this stamp is very beautiful as the detail is lovely. She also looks good stamped over to the left, just peeping into the heart
The background was done with an Imagination crafts stencil.

Thank you for visiting my blog, hope you have a good day.

Fairy Heart

Hello to anyone reading this.
Hope your day is good.

Well, today I have couple of samples  using a stamp which I would normally shy away from, a fairy!! For anyone  who knows me, you will know that this is VERY unusual for me.

I was asked to try it for a new kit that is being launched by Artcuts at the Kirsty Allsop Handmade show at Hampton Court, in September. But shock horror!!!, I found that I got carried away 'playing' with it afterwards.

Even my mother commented that, "for someone who doesn't like fairy stamps, you seem to be doing alright with your samples". So that was nice to hear.

But, I have to admit, I have enjoyed working with this stamp.

It is a Lavinia fairy called Giselle,  and in this first sample I have used it in conjunction with a Chocolate Baroque  stamp called Fantastic Florals, as the background.
The tiny butterflies are Artcuts embellishment butterflies, coloured and glittered.

I like the fact that you can use part of the stamp and she still looks good. So she fits on the smaller heart too.

I have also used her with a Hobby Art  daisy stamp on the background.
I will show you this next time as I haven't managed a photo of it yet.

Hope you visit again soon
Best wishes
Carole

Artcuts Heart

Hello to  anyone who is visiting.

I have a very quick make to show you today using an Artcuts wooden heart and  a stamping technique which I really like.
I have never tried it on the wood before but am pleased with the result.

I stamped directly onto the heart with a VersaMagic inkpad and a Hobby Art stamp,  then  heat embossed it with clear powder. It is probably wise to swipe an antistatic bag over the heart before stamping.
I wiped an inkpad all over the heart, then put a piece of paper over the heart and ironed it with a craft iron.

This will melt the embossing powder and lift it off onto the paper.
It leaves a batik effect on the surface of the wood, which I like.

The little butterfly has been coloured with the same inkpad and then glittered.
It is stuck onto the heart with PVA glue, as have the letters.

Hope you are having a glorious day like we are here.
Please visit again and thank you to everyone who takes the time to make a comment.
It's lovely to get feedback.

Bye for now.
